Away from the office, Iles Property Managing Director Alastair Iles is a regular and successful competitor in motorsport.

In 2009, Alastair has had to make modifications to the car in order to race in Class A (Modified cars) of the Alfa Romeo Championship. Work has included an engine re-fresh, new gearbox and differential, bespoke wiring system, new Perspex glazing in the side and rear windows, Motec ECU and dash system and new slick Dunlop tyres. As is often the case, the work has taken some time and expenditure to complete so Alastair decided not to race in 2009 and concentrate on setting up the car ready for the new season starting in March 2010.

The 250+ bhp Iles Property supported car will make its debut at the first race in 2010 in the modified class. This will be completely different for Alastair, having only raced standard production cars to date. It is hoped that the GTA will also be competitive in other race series, such as Britcar, giving Alastair the chance to race against other makes and models.
